July 28, 2026

  • Widespread support from the health-IT-industry for the new exhibition venue in Munich—new prospects for Europe’s leading digital health event
  • Call for Papers now open: Focus on key future topics in digital healthcare and international perspectives
  • DMEA will take place April 13–15, 2027, as the central meeting place for the digital health industry

With broad support from the industry, DMEA 2027 is heading to Munich. Leading partners of the event have already confirmed their participation, sending a strong signal about the future of Europe’s leading digital health event at its new venue.

As Europe’s most important event for digital health, the DMEA brings together stakeholders from clinical practice, IT, politics, and academia. The inaugural event in Munich also offers opportunities to further expand its role as a European platform for digital health. Sascha Raddatz, Managing Director of the German Association for Healthcare IT (bvitg e. V.), the organizer of the DMEA, welcomes the positive response:
“I am convinced that Munich combines exactly what the digitization of the healthcare sector needs: a strong technology hub, excellent international connections, and room for growth. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for the DMEA—we want to broaden the event’s scope in terms of content and international reach. The support from our industry partners is an important sign of this.”

With the call for papers now open, the DMEA 2027 conference program is taking shape. Experts have until September 22, 2026, to submit proposals for presentations, seminars, and panels. The key topics range from AI in healthcare and digital sovereignty to cross-sectoral and patient-centered care, as well as the social economy, health IT, and international perspectives.

DMEA partners highlight the potential of the new location

Leading exhibitors and partners have already confirmed their participation in DMEA 2027 and see Munich as offering ideal conditions for the event’s continued development. Matthias Meierhofer, CEO and founder of Meierhofer AG and Chairman of the Board of bvitg e. V., emphasizes: “We’re already sensing a great sense of optimism surrounding DMEA 2027. Munich brings a high level of innovation and an outstanding network spanning the healthcare industry, science, and technology.” Thorsten Herrmann, Managing Director for Germany at CompuGroup Medical, also sees excellent conditions in the new setting: “With the move to Munich, the DMEA is entering its next stage of development. The combination of modern trade show infrastructure, growth opportunities, international networking, and a strong health tech ecosystem gives the trade show a valuable boost.” For Martina Götz, Director of Marketing Communications for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH) at Dedalus HealthCare GmbH, the new location in Munich can unleash additional momentum: “Changes often have a revitalizing effect on our industry. The same has already been observed at other trade shows. That’s why we’ll be there in Munich in 2027 as well.”

A proven platform, new perspectives

In addition to the opportunities offered by the new location, the partners emphasize above all the importance of DMEA as a central platform for exchange, networking, and innovation. In Munich, the event can build on its proven strengths while also providing new impetus for exchange and collaboration within the industry. Uwe Heckert, CEO of Detecon and COO of the Health Industry at Deutsche Telekom T-Systems, sees this as an opportunity to continue DMEA’s success story: “Berlin made the event a success. We want to continue on this journey. We are very confident that the trade show will bring new energy, new ideas, even greater international reach, and innovative momentum.”
For Louise Knorre-Witt, Head of Marketing at NEXUS Germany, the DMEA remains an indispensable industry gathering: “The DMEA is an important platform for us to engage with customers, partners, and the industry. We look forward to supporting the trade show’s continued development at its new location in Munich.” Sven Hoffmann, Marketing Manager at ID Information and Documentation in Healthcare, sees the DMEA’s particular strength in bringing together stakeholders in the digital health industry and fostering new collaborations: “With its strong innovative spirit, the Bavarian metropolis offers the perfect breeding ground for taking networking in the digital health industry to the next level and driving forward forward-looking technologies in an even more targeted manner.”
