DMEA: Definition
DMEA is an annual trade fair and conference dedicated to digital health in Germany. It is organised by the German Association for Healthcare IT (bvitg e. V.) and, from 2027, will be held in Munich in collaboration with Messe München. The event is aimed at professionals from the healthcare sector, politics, academia and industry.
The DMEA was held in Berlin from 2019 to 2026. The 2026 edition was the last DMEA to be held in Berlin. From 2027 onwards, it will continue in Munich. The change of venue does not alter the identity of the event, but simply shifts the location and creates additional scope for growth, internationalisation and professional development.
The DMEA combines a trade fair and conference with networking opportunities. It is one of the leading industry events in the field of digital health and digital healthcare in Germany and Europe.

DMEA: Scale and Significance
In 2025, around 900 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and 20,500 trade visitors attended the DMEA. The conference programme comprised over 200 sessions featuring 470 speakers. The event spanned six exhibition halls.
The DMEA is seeing increasing international participation. In 2025, exhibitors and trade visitors were represented from countries including Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Scandinavia, the USA, Canada, the UK, Israel, China, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.

The change of venue does not constitute a new venture nor a change in the nature of the DMEA. The event remains the DMEA—Connecting Digital Health and will continue in Munich from 2027 onwards.
DMEA: Organization
DMEA is organized by the German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg e. V.). Founded in 1995, bvitg is the trade association for the health IT industry in Germany. It represents companies in the fields of hospital information systems, digital health applications, telemedicine, and IT infrastructure in healthcare.
From 2027 onwards, DMEA will be held in cooperation with Messe München. The event will be held as an in-person event.
