DMEA 2023: Digital health live in Berlin!
From 25 to 27 April 2023 on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, the focus will be on digitalisation in the healthcare sector, with topics ranging from digitalisation strategies for the healthcare sector and nursing, to consumer health and data protection in inpatient facilities as well as interoperability.
As at the last event, Federal Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Karl Lauterbach will act as patron of DMEA. At the opening of DMEA 2022, Lauterbach announced a strategy policy for modern and better medical care. The digitalisation strategy was launched last autumn, and first results are to be presented this spring.
Trade visitors can expect a wide-ranging programme featuring congress lectures, workshops, seminars, discussions, pitches and panel lectures on the digital future of the health sector. DMEA 2023 topics will include health data use, AI, telemedicine applications, the outlook for the telematics infrastructure (TI), the electronic patient file (ePA) and ePrescriptions.
From big industry players to startups
More than three-quarters of the 600 exhibitors expected to attend have already registered for DMEA 2023. In addition to major companies such as CompuGroup Medical, Dedalus, ID Information und Dokumentation im Gesundheitswesen, medatixx, Meierhofer, nexus AG and Telekom Healthcare Solutions, all the other leading players and numerous startups from Germany and abroad have secured their places at DMEA. Compared with last year’s event, the number of startups exhibiting has almost doubled. As in previous years, international exhibitors are represented on combined stands. This year, combined stands featuring Austria, Belgium (Flanders), Denmark, Finland, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland are taking part. An EEN matchmaking event is also being organised at DMEA. EEN stands for Enterprise Europe Network, the world’s largest information and support network for small and medium-sized enterprises with international ambitions.
Focus: DMEA sparks
There is an even greater focus on young professionals at this year’s DMEA. The new ’_Focus: DMEA sparks’ display is where exhibitors and universities are represented, and they will be engaging with students and young professionals with the aim of securing them as new employees. In addition to the exhibition area there will be a stage for discussion rounds, lectures and info sessions.
Students have until 21 February 2023 to apply for the DMEA Newcomer Award, where experts from business and science will honour the best Bachelor’s and Master’s degree final papers on digitalisation in the healthcare sector. Details of the DMEA Newcomer Award can be found here.
