• 900 exhibitors, 470 speakers, 200 sessions - DMEA continues to grow

• Top-class keynotes from Federal Minister of Health Prof. Dr Karl Lauterbach, Dr Katrin Crameri, Prof. Dr David Matusiewicz, Richard van Hooijdonk, Mina Saidze and Judith Gerlach

• DMEA sparks and DMEA nova Award bring young talent and start-ups together with the industry

DMEA 2025 is about to start - for three days, Berlin will once again become the meeting place for the digital healthcare industry with DMEA. With around 900 exhibitors from almost 30 countries, 470 speakers and 200 sessions, DMEA has set new records this year and is heading for another record year.

An extensive congress programme awaits trade visitors on all three days of the event. The first highlight will be the keynote speech by Federal Minister of Health Prof Dr Karl Lauterbach at 1 pm. He has once again assumed the patronage of the DMEA and says in advance: "Using the opportunities of digitalisation means being able to provide better treatment. That should actually be the aspiration of all of us in the healthcare system. The ePA for all is an important milestone towards the future of medicine."

Focus on AI, ePA, data security and interoperability

In addition to the electronic patient file for all mentioned by Prof. Dr Lauterbach, the topics of artificial intelligence, health data use, interoperability, digitalisation of care and data security will also play a major role at DMEA 2025. Digitalisation is progressing rapidly. The DMEA impressively demonstrates which innovative solutions already exist today, how they can contribute to relieving the burden on the healthcare system, but also which visions will sustainably improve the future of digital healthcare.

Melanie Wendling, Managing Director of the German Health IT Association (bvitg e. V.), organiser of DMEA: "Every year, the bvitg team and Messe Berlin succeed in making DMEA even bigger, more colourful and more exciting. With every step you take through the halls, you can feel the energy of an industry that wants to - and can - shape things.

It's clear here that Germany is rethinking healthcare. With digital solutions that want to change real care. With visions that go beyond the status quo. And with the firm belief that technology is more than just a tool - it is a promise of better care.

The DMEA is the place where ideas can become reality. Now it's up to all of us to take the next step - out of the halls and into practice."

Dr Mario Tobias, CEO Messe Berlin, organiser of DMEA: "DMEA is not just a congress trade fair - it is the central platform for digital healthcare in Europe. Here, 900 exhibitors from almost 30 countries come together to actively shape the future of healthcare. 470 speakers will focus on the core topics of digital health: artificial intelligence, electronic patient records, interoperability, the use of health data and data security - anyone working on the digitalisation of the healthcare system cannot avoid the DMEA. This is where visions become solutions, innovations become real progress - and the digital future becomes a reality.

Top-class speakers on the DMEA stage

In addition to a comprehensive congress programme, the DMEA offers a variety of other sessions and discussion formats. For example, Prof. Dr Henriette Neumeyer from the German Hospital Federation will take a seat on the eHealth Hotseat this afternoon (3 p.m.) and answer the question ‘Have hospitals missed out on digitalisation?’ and answer questions. Scientists and thought leaders Prof Dr David Matusiewicz (15:05) and futurist Richard van Hooijdonk (11:15) will also provide exciting insights into the future of digital healthcare.

On the second DMEA day, the DMEA sparks Award will honour the commitment of young talents. The award honours the best bachelor's and master's theses in the field of digital health. Visitors can also look forward to keynote speeches by Dr Katrin Crameri from the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health and AI expert Mina Saidze.

The third DMEA day will be dedicated to start-ups: the most convincing idea from a digital health start-up will be honoured with the DMEA nova Award. The 20 finalists will pitch their ideas on all three days of the event to select the winner in the final pitch. The programme will be complemented by presentations by Felix Behm, expert for Generation Z & Alpha (11:30 a.m.) and Judith Gerlach, Bavarian State Minister for Health, Care and Prevention (11:30 a.m.).

The entire DMEA programme can be found here on the website.
