DMEA Inside - Press Briefing ‘Trend Report Health IT’
Matthias Meierhofer, Chairman of the Federal Association of Healthcare IT - bvitg e. V. and founder and CEO of Meierhofer AG, Melanie Wendling, Managing Director of the bvitg and Luisa Wasilewski, CEO and founder of Pulsewave, gave an initial insight into the most important topics of DMEA 2025. They also presented the bvitg Health IT Trend Report, which the association published in cooperation with Pulsewave.
Matthias Meierhofer: “Under no circumstances should the new German government put the brakes on digitalization in healthcare. I would like to see a clear 'digital first' approach and a healthcare system that no longer thinks in rigid sectors, but instead manages the flow of patients intelligently and digitally.”
Melanie Wendling: “The DMEA 2025 will be the best ever – with a fresh look, new stage highlights and a special focus on the medical profession. In this year of the electronic health record, we are focusing on exchange and training to advance digitalization in medical practices.”
Luisa Wasilewski: “Not all AI is the same – especially in healthcare, we have to distinguish between administrative and medical applications. While smart assistants and clinical documentation will be a reality in many practices by 2025, it will take years for them to be used in diagnostics and therapy. Technology is often faster than regulation.”
The recording of the press conference can be found on the DMEA YouTube channel. The event was held in German language.
From 8 to 10 April 2025, these and many other discussions on the digitalisation of healthcare will continue at the DMEA. In addition, 470 speakers will take to the DMEA stages to focus on the pressing issues surrounding the digitalisation of healthcare. 900 exhibitors from Germany and abroad will present innovative solutions for the future of healthcare.
Tickets for the DMEA are available in the online ticket shop.
