DMEA sparks: The future of digital health starts here!

• Promoting young talent, application coaching and networking
• DMEA sparks Award for the best bachelor's and master's thesis
• DMEA from 8 to 10 April 2025 in Berlin

Digitalization is considered one of the key strategies for addressing the shortage of skilled workers – but the digital health sector also needs qualified employees to make a decisive contribution to the digitalization of the healthcare system. DMEA sparks was created to connect these students, graduates and young professionals with companies.

Experience career opportunities first hand

With a program specially tailored to young talent, DMEA sparks offers career formats such as application coaching, free application photos, guided tours and a job wall. New this year is the career rally – an interactive offering in which participants visit DMEA sparks partners, answer quiz questions and talk directly to HR experts. Participants also have the chance to win a prize.

‘Our goal is to spark young people's interest in the exciting opportunities offered by healthcare IT at an early stage and to promote direct exchange between young talent and companies,’ says Melanie Winter, DMEA project manager. ’With DMEA sparks, we are providing a platform that imparts knowledge, enables networking and lays the foundation for successful careers.’

DMEA sparks partners and career tours

Companies such as DMI, the Friedrich Wingert Foundation, medatixx, Thieme, Worldline and x-tention, as well as the German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg) are involved as DMEA sparks partners. During the career tours, which start directly at the DMEA sparks area, these companies introduce themselves as potential new employers.

At the DMEA sparks area, clinics, universities and companies will also be presenting their offers in the field of digital health. The HR departments of the exhibiting companies will be on hand to answer questions from potential new employees.

DMEA sparks Award: Focus on young talents

This year, outstanding bachelor's and master's theses in the fields of medical informatics, e-health, health IT, health management and similar courses of study will once again be honored with the DMEA sparks Award. A jury of experts has selected 10 finalists from the numerous applications. The most convincing works will be honored at the DMEA on 9 April.

From now on, you can also vote for the DMEA sparks Audience Award on the DMEA YouTube channel. The winner of the award will be the project that receives the most votes from viewers.

Further program highlights for young digital health professionals

In addition to numerous career opportunities, DMEA sparks offers interesting lectures and discussions:

In one session, for example, Inga Bergen focuses on how Generation Z is changing healthcare. Jonah Grütters, Frederike Gramm and Hannes Kolbe talk about the healthcare system's response to the new generation, and in the keynote speech ‘Generation Z & Alpha – how they tick and how we can unlock their potential’, Felix Brehm, one of Germany's leading Generation Z experts, will be speaking.

The full DMEA sparks program can be found here on the website.

Tickets for the DMEA are available exclusively from the online ticket shop. Concessionary tickets are available for students and trainees. Universities planning a field trip to the DMEA can register at dmea@bvitg.de.
